So with 18 hours to go before we leave I'm having that "which tent" (std) delemia! Last trip we bought the Vaude (Green tent) and had it delivered in Germany. It's a great tent, quick to erect and has good storm resilience and warm and well sealed.
The other tent in the photo is a MacPac hike tent that Glen donated to the 'ashley' tent portfolio. It is a good tent, bit slower to get setup, but its 1/2 the weight of the Vaude at 2.5kgs. Its not quit as roomy and would not be good in Philip Island wind storm! (ie 2003 Super bikes for those that enjoyed that experience).
So in the end the MapPac got picked. We see how well that goes.
