MRT Rally to Prague

After a few days of bike fixing and most importantly TUV (Roadworthy cert) Werner and Claudia's bikes were ready to ride in Germany without too much worry about getting tickets for un-ride-able bikes from the German police....

I had ordered a new front and back tyre set (Heidenau K60 Scout) but these did not arrive in time. I really only needed a new rear but a new TKC80 would be a waste on tarmac only roads, in Europe. But Werner was insistent that I should not mix tyres as the German Police might book me. Lucky the tyre on Clauda's bike was a TKC80 and still with about 3000 - 4000 kms life (my guess). So I reversed the 1/2 worn out front tyre, and fitted the worn (but still serviceable) rear and my service work was done.

next part of the plan in our tour was to go to the MRT rally with an overnight stop at Werner's aunt's place about 1/2 way to Geibolderhousen (the MRT Rally camp site) The MRT Rally is for motorbike riders to get together to meet and hear stories and party...

On the road again, or car park at least!

After the Rally finished on Sontag we were packed up and ready to ride by 08:30... Seems I did not have the same party hang over that some did :) Werner I'm sure your voice will return...

We did a bit of a road runner and were on Autobahn to Dresden most of the way..

These photos are of Dresden city area :-

Just looking dear .....

plenty of these running tourist rides about town.

History on a wall.

We took advice and headed over to the Elbe river and rode along the river for the views. But we (I)  managed to get some what lost and we rode along bicycle tracks beside the river . We got several looks from the bewildered walkers and a few push bike riders. But I did not see any signs to say no motor vehicle access ...

But this did slow us up quite a bit, with the idea of getting to Prague looking like a big ask, I started to take the GPS's instructions and after some nice windy and bumpy small roads we were back on the motorway. We were a bit late in to the town, but not overly.

Prague, about the old town.  The town is full of old buildings & monuments.  Some need a good clean & scrub to bring back their true colors.
